Our high-performance silver and deming drill bits, often abbreviated as S&D bits, are a staple in metalworking and industrial maintenance. These reduced shank drill bits feature a standardized 1/2" shank, allowing you to use a standard drill chuck to bore large holes that would typically require a much larger machine or a specialized taper shank bit.

These high speed steel (HSS) twist drills are treated with a Nitride surface coating that creates a protective layer, significantly reducing heat and friction to prevent tool failure. The 118° split point geometry is engineered to reduce thrust and prevent bit "walking" during the start of a cut. With a consistent flute length and a standard 6" overall length, these bits provide the rigidity needed for both a drill press and heavy-duty portable drilling.
