Grade 2 hex cap screws are made from a medium-grade strength of steel and are best suited for low-stress applications and non-extreme environmental conditions.

These screws are best used for applications that do NOT have high stress or extreme environmental conditions. If your application requires some corrosion resistance, consider purchasing a plated hex cap screw in zinc or galvanized finish.
