The most common and regularly used nut, for countless applications, is the finished hex nut. A finished hex nut has six sides and a hollow center with internal threading allowing it to fit over an externally threaded shaft. Finished hex nuts can be used with various bolts, screws, anchors, threaded rod, or any other material that has external threading.
