Our #8-32 x 3/16" cup point set screws feature a nylon pellet embedded in the threads or head of the screw. As the screw is installed and tightened, the nylon distorts causing friction to help prevent loosening for a more secure hold. Socket screws with nylon pellets are commonly used in applications subject to vibration or movement, where maintaining a secure hold is critical.The cup point offers both permanent and semi-permanent connections. The screws are finished with a black oxide coating which offers minimal protection.
