Carriage bolts are best known for their smooth, rounded head. They also feature a square neck just below the head to prevent bolts from turning or vibrating loose after being installed. Stainless steel Carriage bolts up to 5/8" in diameter offer a minimum tensile strength of 100,000PSI (or 100 KSI) and those 3/4" diameter or larger offer a minimum tensile strength of 85,000PSI (or 85 KSI).
