Our 5/16"-18 x 2 1/2" Set Screw, Cup Point offers both permanent and semi-permanent connections. Unlike standard screws that feature a head and threaded shaft, headless socket set screws consist of a fully threaded shaft designed for flush installation. This design is ideal for mechanical assemblies with tight space constraints, such as securing a pulley or gear to a shaft, as the screw sits flush or just below the surface once the appropriate torque is applied. Black oxide is standard and readily available, offering a minimally protective layer.
